State Department: Citizens Get Out of Egypt

Because of continually deteriorating circumstances in Egypt, the US State Department is strongly advising any remaining US citizens to proceed quickly to the airport in Cairo and get out of the country. It will still be available to assist those citizens still needing help getting out of the city, but could not comment on how much longer assistance would be available. It said further delay is inadvisable.

Carnival Dream Chipwrecked

So how weird must this have been for these passengers on the Carnival Dream, Carnival’s newest and largest ship, taking a Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral, Florida, on January 22 this year! This sailing was being used as the backdrop for the third Chipmunks sequel, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked!, due out in theaters this coming December. Most of the filming took place on the ship’s upper decks in the Carnival Dream’s large recreation areas. This sailing’s itinerary included stops in Belize, Roatan, Cozumel, and Costa Maya, which should provide some stunning backdrops for the movie. My kids love the Chipmunks movies, so I know they would have gotten a kick out of being onboard during filming. If you know anyone who was on this sailing, watch closely when the movie opens later this year and you just might see them!
